She can't be serious.March 6, 2010 tup66(NY, USA) As one of my patients said the other day, "am I the only one who notices that Taylor Swift cannot sing?"
When I first heard this girl on TV a couple years back, I thought I was catching a parody show. Surely no one singing that poorly and off-key was being serious. Of course now I know she is, indeed, singing "seriously" and that there was no joke intended. The Grammy Awards, obviously, aren't handed out based on talent. They are given each year to singers who-- usually due to being most heavily promoted-- have received popularity and high sales. (A quick review into previous years' winners show an unfortunate tendency to award "artists" who later fizzle out as one-hit wonders. Check for yourself-- the list of winners is hilarious in hindsight.)
That said, it's still sad that the public will continue to think they like someone based on that person being marketed and shoved down their throat incessantly. "You say Taylor Swift is the new big thing? Oh... ok.... hey, yeah, I like her! And I think she's SOOOOO talented!" I do find some humor in the album's title. Surely this young woman IS quite fearless in her willingness to stand in front of people and sing her heart out when hitting the notes is such a struggle. Not everyone has a set of pipes to write home about, but 9 out of 10 people in the room can remain on key singing Happy Birthday. Taylor Swift will always be that 10th person in the room, always not quite hitting the notes, but doing her best to try, anyway. Bless her heart for tryin', this fearless little thing, but good lord, what a painful experience for the rest of us who aren't tone deaf. I look forward to the day her 15 minutes are up.
Good CD and I don't even listen to countryMarch 2, 2010 Princess_Fiona86(Washington, DC) I don't even listen to country music. I mostly listen to R&B and rap. However when I heard Taylor's songs on the radio I became a fan right away and wanted to hear more. I really like this cd and it's the only country CD i own.
Great!March 2, 2010 Johnathan Mcilvride(Canada) Great price for a CD with so many good songs. I haven't bought a CD in forever, but I thought this one was very reasonable. I stopped buying them because they got to be $25-30+ and only had one or two favorites on them.
Oh and again, Taylor >> all.
Terrible!February 27, 2010 Misty cigarette 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Terrible vocals. Mediocre songs about boys, boys and boys, and a little girl stuff. She needs to improve her vocals and mature her writing.

Me and my wife both love this CD - I'm not afraid to admit it :)
